Landscape with water and sky

From photos - rain just stopped - but no time for plain aire :(

Some Updates

I've been quiet here - even if you haven't noticed ;)

But I've been doing lots of things. Some of them are on Flickr now - I am taking watercolor pencil class online with Cathy Johnson and you can see results of my experiments with this new media there - I will do my best to post them here too but just in case - there is a link on the right :)

I've also picked up plain aire work (you know - when you pick up your pens and pencils and go stand on the wind or under the sun or sit on a cold stone - and paint/draw/enjoy the process while people are looking over your shoulder or birds are trying to eat your watercolors etc. It's fun! Try it some day - even if it's for 5 minutes only ;)

Illustration Friday: choose

I think that making the simplest, right choice if a very hard thing sometimes. When I am stuck - I try to remember that I am capable of making a right decision - which slipper to put on which foot for example ;)

I created this as a part of watercolor pencil workshop.

Orange and plein aire

This is an image from my browns of January experiment ;)

I found a great group on Flickr - plein aire. Cathy (Kate) Johnson organized it and keeps posting wonderful images almost daily! Needless to say that it inspired me to do some work outdoors myself.

Now - these days I do a lot of work outdoors since I try to draw while my little monster is playing with his friends, while he gets out of the car or while he is looking for that shovel we came to the park with or while he is trying to wrestle my pen from my hand ... But these new attempts are done without him - it's pure "go out there just to draw/paint" thing. Let's see how it will go ;)

After today's session I had to drink a gallon of tea - it's very cold (I know, I know i I should not complain here in California - it's 55° but it's really windy and cold on the ground!).

I am having fun with a water-soluble graphite pencil (never used one before - HOW DID I MISSED THIS GREAT THING??) And with some watercolors, of course.

The Guardian Unlimited

Drawing from the Guardian - this is one of the new coaches in soccer I think ;)

Illustration Friday: Blanket

I started drawing my blanket for the continuation of my explorations of brown colors in January - now February - but somehow my pouch got into this drawing - and here you are - a blanket is only a backdrop :) Well, may be I will try again ;)
