Color Pencils or Colored Pencils?

Do you say Colored Pencils or Color Pencils?

I've been thinking about the non-existent difference in these two and how one of these options drives me nuts for quite some time now. All while using color pencils as a part of my mixed media experimentation. Here are two recent sketches that were pure colored pencil were used - without any paints and other materials. I think I would like to keep them here as a record of some ideas that I would like to go back to.

Teapot as a sign that the year has started.

The year does not start for me at 12.01 on January first. This switch is an accumulation of little steps that turn the ring of seasons in my head to some sort of beginning. We put away decorations. We put up new calendars. Festive food plans give place to more healthy and pragmatic choices. Books are no longer littering every surface but are put in stacks in the order they will be read. Piles of "backburner", hopes and musts are reworked into a heap of fresh new year plans and goals. And I go back to my routines. One of which is drinking lots of tea and drawing my teapot. So this is an official portrait of my current teapot and a sign that this year is officially in progress!

Revolution on my work table.

Two momentous changes are happening to the situation on my work table. No - the mess is still there - though I plan to draw it all and enjoy an temporary space for however long it will last. But the revolutions are: I have a new tea pot and a new paint water container. Somehow I managed to throw away the old tea pot without sketching it (probably because I was too upset when it cracked). But I got the plastic jar out of the recycling bin to draw (though now I am not sure this thing should be recycled).

The end of Sketchbook #115

End end of Sketchbook #115 will tell you all about me going back to routines of everyday life :) Reading and cello and taekwondo classes with my kid, taking care of octogenarian, talking to my family via video calls, collecting and drawing treasures I found on my walks, drinking tea, trying to clear space on my table, drawing crazy things as a way to procrastinate - all in all - normal life :)

Sketchbook #99: Everyday Life

Some days I prepare something beautiful to add to my sketchbook. Others I quickly paint over a dilapidated drawing on my tea mug (ex beer mug) or a tool I've carried with me across the world or just a boy or a dog. You know - little things that make every day.

Sketchbook #93: Persimmons on My Table

The original idea of drawing all the persimmons I eat during this season was folly of course. But I tried to draw one for every 10 I ate ;) And still do (this is catching-up post from almost a month ago :) Sketchbook #93: Persimmons on My TableSketchbook #93: Persimmons on My TableSketchbook #93: Persimmons on My Table
